Rain is currently affecting the city, with heavy downpours and a temperature of 66 degrees.

The rain is moving quickly, with a squall line coming in from the west and causing a mix of weather.

The rain is expected to help with the ongoing drought, and tomorrow's forecast looks better.

Rainfall Impacting the City and Long Island

Decent downpours are occurring around the city, including Yankee Stadium, with a batch of rain moving from LaGuardia to Great Neck.

The rain is expected to push north and east, causing bigger rainfall on the east end of Long Island.

Training showers and storms will linger over the Twin Forks until they start to dissipate, with the heaviest rain moving offshore by 5:30 AM.

Rain and Wind Forecast for Friday and Saturday

Rainfall will vary, with areas east of New York City expecting up to two inches, while the city itself is projected to receive between half an inch to an inch.

Winds will be gusting up to 36 miles per hour, with a wind advisory in effect from midnight to 8:00 AM.

By Saturday afternoon, the wind will subside, and the weather is expected to be beautiful for the Yankee game and the rest of the weekend, with temperatures reaching 70 degrees on Sunday before another front brings rain on Monday.

The temperature will drop to the mid-50s for highs from Tuesday to Thursday.

A cold front is expected to bring this change in weather.

The week will continue with these cooler temperatures.
