Alam Moana Travelers, welcome to another Last Epoch video. As of recording this, we are about 6 hours away from the 1.1 cycle launch, and I am quite excited, as I'm sure you are. However, unlike many of you, I think I'm going into Last Epoch 1.1 with a bit of a different approach, and that is the fact that I have not done any build research. Really, sure, I've watched a few YouTube videos here and there, but instead of planning out my cycle starter, instead of looking at Last Epoch tools and a whole bunch of build guides across the internet and formulating exactly how I'm going to begin this cycle to ensure that I can down that new Pinnacle boss at endgame, I am going in blind. I played a falconer last time with acid flask. I thought it looked cool. I tried to follow a guide there by Ziky D, didn't quite pan out. So instead, this time I'm going on pure vibes alone. I looked at the class set. I looked at

all the masteries, and I decided instead of following a build guide, I'm just going to play a mage G run master and pick what skill seems cool and pick up what items seem powerful. As I progress, we're going to see how that goes. I've praised last Epoch a lot in the past for being intuitive and allowing for this style of gameplay, and except for playing before 1.0, I've always gone with this sort of wing-it play style. Now with 1.1, with it being a much fuller game, with it having a broader end game, with a lot more items, and many of the skills actually being balanced now, I'm quite excited to see how this pans out. I'm curious how many people out there are actually doing the same thing wherein instead of picking out a build from a YouTuber or on the last Epoch forms or Max roll, they're just going in the game, and they're saying, I am going to play what is cool, and that's it. How far will I actually make it into the end game with

this approach. I'm hoping that I can down all of the usual timeline bosses. I'm hoping I can beat the harbingers, and I really hope I'll somehow be able to take down this new Pinnacle boss. I know that I won't be the first, but as long as I can actually bring him down, I will be satisfied. Abath will fall. I'm curious though, if you aren't taking this approach, what are you playing? Because I have looked at a few content creators out there, and I would greatly recommend if you don't want to take my approach. If you want to actually have a well-thought-out build that will likely be able to down a lot of the bosses, as long as you have a little bit of skill, you check out Dreadful. Dreadful puts out a lot of last OT content, and it's consistently genuine. I'd say high quality, and he's really straight with you. If something's bad, he'll tell you. If something's good, he'll also let you know. Max roll is an okay.

Source: They won't give you the most broken stuff out there. They'll give you something reliable and something that you know won't be fixed in a bug fix patch during the cycle. Otherwise, I would really recommend truly. Instead of following someone else's build, you copy what I'm doing. It feels good. It feels like you're back in the Elder days, you know, when you just sit down at your computer, you boot up a game, and then you just go in and make a character the way you wanted to make it. We talk a lot about Diablo I, Diablo 1, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, all these games from an era wherein content wasn't readily available online. Sure, there were forums and the like where you could read written guides. There wasn't YouTube where you could get the exact build, playthrough, and exactly what the build could do in mere seconds. You'd actually have to try to search and forage for this information in gameplay guide books, physical books, or on some obscure forum. And that was a great time, really. It forced you to challenge your Notions of

of what was successful in the game. You were playing it forced you to innovate. It forced you to look at what you were finding and repurpose it for something that works for your current build or to pivot entirely if you decided to do so. I used to do that all the time in Neverwinter Nights one, which was my favorite game of my childhood. I tried to do this as much as I can in Path of Exile, but let's face it, in Path of Exile, you do need to do a lot more prep unless you want to put a lot more time in. That's what solo self-found is for, and not everyone has the time for that. Fortunately, I think Last Epoch presents players with that exact opportunity. You can just log into the game, choose a class, choose a Mastery, and go learn on the fly. Decide what you want to build with as you're playing. It really hearkens back to those feelings of me making my druid and my Necromancer in Diablo I, and I really want to replicate.

My goal for this cycle is to down that Pinnacle boss with a build of my own making. I'm so happy that last Epoch still seems to be in that stage, that beautiful golden era of a video game wherein everything isn't figured out entirely, and you can go into the game and beat the content currently available with a build that you have crafted yourself without being an expert in Path of Exile 1. Presently, that's very difficult to do if you're not an expert in all the game mechanics when it comes to character building, optimizing your gear, perfecting your route through this passive skill tree, knowing which skills to use. You'd find it pretty darn hard to beat the Uber bosses in that game. I don't think I'd be able to do it without oodles of research on Pue ninja or attempting to use path of building and using content that other content.

creators have put out on YouTube and the like in last Epoch. I think we're able to do that presently. I think we can make our own builds and beat this first Pinnacle boss that 11th Hour games is releasing, and that's super exciting. I can reenact my days of beating Diablo on, what is it, infernal? Was it hell difficulty in Diablo I with a build of my own design. I love those days. That was awesome. It was a simpler time, and maybe sometimes I'm really trying to recapture the simplicity of that era. People always talk about how days were better when they were kids, you know, the days were long, they were enjoyable at all times. Maybe it's just because of how we thought during those times, maybe it's just because of what we were doing then and what we're doing now. Our thought processes are obviously different between now and then, and I don't know, last Epoch is just making me think about all that. I'm very excited to play so.
