However, after Hong Kong was handed back to mainland China, many Hong Kong men started marrying Chinese women for cost-effectiveness, making it difficult for Hong Kong women to get married. There are also similar discussions about Japan. During the economic boom in the past, the feminist movement among women was very active. But what about now? Women are now pretending to be as modest as possible, saying things like, I can even make lunch boxes for you, and accommodating men. Why has this happened? Why has Japan, which once had such a vibrant feminist movement, fallen to this point? Why have women's rights regressed in this country?

Due to the economic crisis, no one is talking about this. When an economic crisis hits, the first people to disappear are those in the service sector. Right now, many restaurants and small businesses are closing down. The costs for accommodations are rising, and there are no options available. Facilities like saunas are also closing. What is the profession with the highest concentration of women? It's the service industry. Most women have degrees in liberal arts, and there are also those in physical education. Think about it: when an economic crisis occurs, will mothers send their children to after-school programs? Will they enroll them in swimming or arts academies? With rising prices, will they go out to eat? As labor costs increase, will business owners hire part-time workers? With high loan interest rates, will families go on trips every weekend or during vacations? The profession that is hit the hardest is that of women in the service sector.

So, what happens is that the poverty rate among women begins to rise. Honestly, there are plenty of jobs available. If you go to rural areas, there are many job opportunities. But let's be honest, do we women do hard work? Can we really go to the countryside thinking it's like a working holiday and clean pig manure? Can we move heavy bags of fertilizer? Can we even handle loading and unloading packages? Men do these jobs, but women absolutely do not. I know some women might do it, but generally, they tend to avoid hard labor. Men do it. So, what happens is that if you do hard work, you earn more money. Even now, in Korean society, there is still a tendency to divide jobs into white-collar and blue-collar. Blue-collar jobs are still looked down upon, and there's a tendency to belittle engineers and such. But to be frank, blue-collar jobs are often better than these white-collar office jobs in small and medium enterprises.

Women earn much more money, and while it may be a bit harder physically, what happens when an economic crisis hits? Many companies will go out of business, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. This means that many office jobs in these companies will also disappear. So, at this point in an economic crisis, women start looking for jobs, but there aren't many options available. Meanwhile, men still have job opportunities; they can work in physically demanding jobs and earn money. Even if they have to do labor work at construction sites, they still make money. 

So, let's think about this logically: is it beneficial for a woman to marry a man who earns more money than she does? Is it not? I'm not talking about an economic boom. During a boom, performance bonuses can reach 300%, and women also earn a lot of money. But right now, we are facing stagflation and an economic downturn. The economy is shrinking, and in the future, South Korea will face challenges even more difficult than Japan's lost 30 years.

During the economic revival period in the past, Japanese women had feminist ideas, and such movements were very active. At that time, the idea of remaining unmarried was prevalent, similar to what we see in Korea today. Then, an economic recession occurred. Do you know how those who were advocating for the anti-marriage movement are doing now? They are barely getting by while working two jobs, such as at a repair shop. This is the reality. Unless these individuals are in professional roles or public service—like doctors, judges, lawyers, or teachers—the likelihood of women living in poverty as they age is very high. And let me share an honest reality: many Japanese women want to be full-time housewives, but that is very much discouraged. To be frank, what about Japanese women born after the economic crisis? The older generation that used to shout out their demands is now aging.

We've seen people suffering from poverty. What about the younger generation that witnessed this? Women in their twenties are trying to marry men in their forties who seem to have it all together. They want to get married in their early twenties. Then they start working, and during their twenties, they think, I’ll work hard later and become a team leader or a manager in five or ten years. But as they age, they reach their thirties, and when they are 35 and looking toward their forties, they start to feel overwhelmed. Physically, it’s tough. Men don’t give any leeway; society is like a jungle. They have to compete against each other as human beings, man against woman, with no consideration. It’s a competition of humans against humans, and physically, it’s hard to win against them. So, for women, this becomes too overwhelming, leading them to think about marriage.

I want to get a job. I think that way, and even when I try working at a company, there is a noticeable difference. The mindset of married women and those who are not married varies. Married people think, My husband is also struggling, so why should I endure this dirty situation while I have to work? When tough situations arise, they react this way. But for those who are single, if I don't earn money, I will starve. I have to pay my rent too. In that case, they just endure everything, even while seeing the unpleasant aspects of it. As a result, many of these individuals experience a reality check. I'm not saying this to put women down; I'm sharing this to inform. I'm letting you know in advance that these situations exist. There have been similar incidents in Hong Kong, in Japan, and in the past, feminism was a huge issue in Europe and America.

And there was a lot of chaos in New Zealand, right? But why are these women so eager to get married first? Why isn't this reported in the media? For those who haven't lived abroad, they're like frogs in a well. When you're in the well, you look up at the sky and think, Oh, the sky is round, or The sky must be this size. But when you jump out of the well and see another world, you realize that the sky doesn't have a fixed shape. You can come to know the truth. If you really want to see the truth, don't just look at the shadows inside the cave; go outside the cave and see the actual form. I'm the one who shows that form, not someone who deceives you. So, it might be uncomfortable, but if you know the truth, you won't be able to say things like you do now. There's a show in the U.S. called I'm Not Your Father.

What this is about is that women get pregnant after meeting with various men, but they don't know who the father is. Among these men, the women think about choosing the one who earns the most money and say, Hey, I gave birth to your child, and then they marry him. This way, they can get child support from that person. That's the kind of life they lead. However, the man might think, No matter how I look at it, this child doesn't resemble me. I'm type O, and the woman is type O, but the child is type AB. That's strange. In that case, he comes on the show and says, I think this woman gave birth to a child that isn’t mine and is demanding child support from me. Please help me find the real father. Then, the woman on the program insists, No, look at my face! The child looks exactly like me! This child is definitely mine.

They talk about child support in a way that appeals to justice, showing scenes of a happy family. They lived this kind of life, so how can they say such things? But then, at the very end, it reveals, You are not the father of this child. The man gets angry and cheers, thinking that he no longer has to provide custody. The women who come out there scream, saying that it can't be true. This is the moment when the TV show changes. It's as if women are actually trying to have children. Women desperately want to get married. In another show I watched, there was a talk show featuring very successful men, inviting millionaires to discuss their lives. Then a 24-year-old man comes out, saying he has a dilemma: he is 24 years old, but his girlfriend wants a ring and wants to get married.

In the United States, the host said while grabbing the man's shoulder, Get your act together. Look me in the eye. You must not get married until you turn 35. You shouldn't marry until you know yourself and until you succeed. This is the culture there. However, Korea is gradually moving toward this kind of culture as well. Traveling abroad or living overseas has its advantages; it allows you to experience the future in advance. You can see the mindset of people in the future and realize that this way of thinking will also change in Korea. You can foresee how systems will transform in this manner. Especially when you live in developed countries, you can see this clearly. Europe is 30 years ahead of Korea, and Japan is 10 years ahead of Korea. So, regarding the near future...

If you want to know, go to Japan, talk to people, and study about Japan. Then you will understand about Korea's near future. And if you want to know about Korea's distant future, study Western Europe. By studying Western and Northern Europe, you can get a rough idea of how Korea will develop in the future. So my point is that I have gone outside the well and seen the real sky, the true reality. I am someone who has truly seen it. After that, I want to give advice to women in the direction that benefits them the most. Korea is now entering winter; the economic recession has begun. Men's mindsets are starting to change. They are beginning to think, I don't want to get married, I want to be a herbivore man, in a Japanese style. So, really smart women should pay attention to the changing mindsets of men.

Before, it's about quickly finding a man to marry, as that would be beneficial for you in the long run. There's a term called Pong Pong man, right? So let's think about it. Is a woman who marries a Pong Pong man unhappy? Is she at a loss? No, it's a gain. It's a huge gain. Meeting a husband who earns well allows the woman to not work and just spend her time having brunch at cafes and chatting with friends. It means she can live a comfortable life. Right now, there are still Pong Pong men around. So, what does this mean? We're at a turning point before things change. Therefore, it's advantageous for women to quickly find someone and get married before that happens. I'm telling you this, but who is telling you? No one is informing you. They just say that being single is the way to go, and that marriage leads to unhappiness. The media promotes this idea, but why aren't they promoting the opposite?

The more unmarried people there are, the more economic crises arise, and as dual-income households become more common, the number of workers who can be exploited increases. To understand how society operates, I need to view it with a wealthy mindset. If I were an owner, I would hope for a world where I could hire workers at a low cost. I would want the people working at my company to be desperate; I would want them to be in a situation where if they didn't work for us, they couldn't survive elsewhere. Only then would they be more loyal, right? For that, what is needed? A sense of urgency. 

In the case of men, it's different. When men are married, they tend to work even harder. But for women, if they are not married, they have no one to rely on, which makes them work even harder. They have to pay rent and manage their living expenses. And what businesses are companies preparing for now? The rental industry. In general, rental housing can be much more active, and you can offer a lot of monthly rent. So, don't be swayed or deceived. No matter how much the media talks about marriage being very unhappy and that you shouldn't get married, the truth is not that. Furthermore, even when working in a company, the average salary and annual income of women differ from those of men because the fields of work are different. Men usually see their annual salary increase over time, but women mostly work in the service industry, so their salaries don’t increase much. Many people earn less than 200. Even if they have worked in that field for a long time, I rarely see anyone earning 250 or over 300. Moreover, very few people get promoted to higher positions. In their 20s, they might earn around 180 to 200, but even in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, their salaries often remain stagnant.

If you don't think about it at all, just a little bit, how much will women's economic and social status improve? So, getting married is beneficial for women. Yes, we are entering an era of dual-income households, but having at least one place to rely on is different from the mindset of if I don't earn this, I'm done. When I share this kind of information, there are always comments like, Please don't tell me this, I feel sorry for you. Why do you live like that? I'm almost 40; it's too late for me. That's why I'm sharing this, so you don't end up like that. Who else is going to tell you this? Everyone around you is a competitor. Good men are competitors trying to get married quickly. But who will tell you to stop if you're against marriage?

If I don't like it, what are the chances of getting married now that I've turned 40? At that point, one either opts for international marriage or has to believe in oneself, living with the mindset of supporting oneself for a lifetime. Right now, we are at the beginning of change; it’s a turning point. It’s similar to the start of an awakening. For men, marrying before their mindset changes is the most advantageous approach from a woman's perspective. I’m sharing the most favorable conditions for women. Let's avoid misconceptions. Korea will inevitably follow in Japan's footsteps. As it has always been, the deeper the economic crisis goes, the higher the poverty rate among women will rise. What does the next five years hold? In three years, a spring will emerge among young women in their early twenties, alongside economically prepared men in their thirties.
