Customizing Samsung Galaxy: Annoyance-Free Device Experience

### 8 Annoying Samsung Galaxy Features to Disable
* 🔒 Disable the **Quick Access tab** by adjusting settings under "Quick Access" in the Samsung Wallet app.

[Music] [Applause] [Music] Hey, everybody, welcome back to the channel. My name is Jimmy, and today we'll take a look at eight annoying things on your Samsung Galaxy device that you just want to get rid of. Now, this list is made up from things that annoy me personally as well as comments from my last videos. Now, the first one that we'll talk about today is this on the very bottom. This is a quick access tab. Now, some of you might see this almost everywhere. It could be on every single home screen. It can be on your lock screen and even when the screen is off. Now, this one is what it looks like for the quick access, which gets you into your Samsung wallet. Now, what you see right here is a normal little tab on the very bottom, and that's just letting you know that you have your little gestures on and you don't have the navigation bar. So you can actually get rid of this as well, and I'll show you that here in just a second. But first, let's talk about this quick access. So if

you have your Samsung wallet signed into or your Samsung account, and you see that little tab once you open it up. Head over into all, and then on the top right-hand side click those three dots and hit on settings, and it'll be right here underneath quick access. Now inside of here, there is a lot of different settings you can take a look at, but most of everything that we'll take a look at here is with the swipe up gesture. Now you can see you can have it on the lock screen and even when the screen is off. Now I turn those off just so I can kind of show you what it looked like on the home screen, and when I was talking about how you can have it on every home screen, it can be on every single one or just the home screen itself. Now if you want to turn all of these off, you simply turn all of these off, and now it won't be there. The other thing that you can do is if you want it to still be on just the home screen itself like the default home.

screen. You can have your transparency all the way up. So, it is another way that you can still get into that quick access. You can kind of see how it's gone. And then when you swipe up, you can get into your Samsung wallet. You can even do that on the rest of the home screen if you don't want that line to be there. So, this is one way to get rid of the visible line. But if you want to get rid of every single thing where nothing really happens other than you just being on your homepage, you just want to go inside of here, your quick access, the swipe up gesture. And then when you turn this one all the way off, now it's just not going to be there at all. You're just still going to be left with this little line, which we will actually tackle this here in just a second. And now to tackle this topic right here, which is topic number two, this is getting rid of that little navigation gestures bar that kind of shows up on all of the home screens.

could be a little annoying. So, how you're able to get rid of it, or mostly get rid of it, is inside of Good Lock. Now, Good Lock is an application that's made by Samsung for Samsung. You can find it in the Galaxy Store. It's a way that you're able to just fully customize your Samsung device. Now, this one is a region-locked app, which means some countries have it available and some countries don't. Now, if you do have Good Lock available, you want to download the module that's called NavStar 'cause it deals with the navigation buttons or the navigation area on the very bottom. So, when you're using those swipe gestures, a couple things that you can change is this one here on the very top, which is Transparent Hint. So, what it does is it actually brings down this whole space on the bottom of the phone and it gives you a little bit more visibility of the application you're using. So, that is Step number one. Now, Step number two is taking a look at this gesture handle. What you can do is you can turn this thing on and

you can change how it looks. So originally, it was somewhere like this. And what you can do is you can take down the transparency. You can see it went down. And you can even change the width of it. So you can still see that it is slightly there. But when you turned on this transparent hint and then you bring down the width of the bar as well as the transparency, again, you don't want it to be, you know, bright white. If you try to get it as transparent as possible, there's a lot of applications that you'll open and this thing will completely disappear. Topic number three, we'll go right back inside of Good Lock since we were just there. And this was a comment in video the other day. Someone asked if you're able to get rid of any of those icons on your little notifications panel. So they're talking about these little icons up over here. Maybe you have your alarm set every single day at the exact same time. You don't need that little icon on the very top. And you want to free up the space.

the other comment I had was about a week ago. Someone had the PM and the date as well, and they mentioned that they kept getting notifications, and everything kept filling up on the very top. So what you need to do is you want to download the Quickstar module. So if you already have good luck, you want to download Quickstar, which Quickstar was one of the things that the person with the PM and the date and time had right here. So they actually went through here and turned on the date and the PM, and it really filled up the very top. So when they got notifications, it was kind of filling up. So if you want to turn on the PM or AM also along with the date, you can actually turn them on or off right here. It's very simple. If you want to completely hide the time, you can. If you want to move it to the right-hand side, you can. So I wanted to cover that one really quick just because this is one of the things that they turned on, wanting to turn off, and forgot how they did it.

it's sitting just right here. You also have the seconds, I guess, if you want to show the seconds. Now, what you want to do, taking a look at those old indicator icons, which is those up over here. So, if you wanted to get rid of maybe your alarm, you can actually just simply tap that. So, you can see that the alarm icon is now gone. But you know that you always have the alarm set. So, for any of these icons that you want to get rid of, you're able to get that done. Also, NFC. NFC is something you know that I don't really use all the time for any payments, but I use it when I am charging my vehicle. So, even though I don't see it on this little screen here, I do see it when I pull it down. So, when you get rid of these icons, they will be gone in both areas. Here, you can see alarm is showing up on the normal, you know, status bar on the top. It also still shows up when I pull down and I expand it. Now, if we take

away the alarm, and again, NFC NFC is not showing up over here, but in the extended screen it did. So when I pulled down, I was able to kind of clear up all of my little icons. So if there's any of these you would like to get rid of, all of them are sitting right here, and you simply just turn them on or off. Topic number four, let's just go inside and let's take a look at these little icons on the very bottom. Now I've already covered this in a past video, talking about everything that's brand new or changed or everything you need to know about the Samsung keyboard. So maybe you have the little icon for input method down there, or maybe you have your little voice input icon there. You are able to get rid of one or both of these if you want. So first off, if you simply just want to change it over into input mode, it's right there. So if you accidentally tap on the little mic and you don't mean to, now you can actually just have it be that little keyboard. Now if you want to

get rid of this little icon here. It's inside of settings, and once you go inside of settings, you're going to scroll down. And this is where you see voice input. And this is where you can actually just go to none. And so now what's going to happen is if I go right back over inside of here, that little voice input is now gone. But this right here, this little keyboard icon. Let's say that maybe you want to get rid of this thing. Pretty much all you would have to do is tap on it. And then you just want to turn it off. And it's completely gone. So there's going to be absolutely nothing on the very bottom left-hand side. Now, if you ever need to turn these ones back on, you can go inside of settings. And this one's for the keyboard. This is where you can turn on your voice input, put it back either to Samsung or Google. And now that you turned on the voice input. Now you maybe you want to get back that little keyboard icon. You want to go inside of settings, go all the

way down where you see General management, and then inside of General management, this is where you go to keyboard list and default, and this is where you see keyboard button on navigation bar. And so now that you did that, you can just completely get rid of everything. And on the very bottom now again, you have your voice input and the input method right back. Topic number five will talk about getting rid of your fingerprint icon in certain areas, as well as getting rid of that little animation when you unlock the phone. So for me, I always turn off the animation just because I don't need another process happening when I'm just unlocking my phone. I just want to get in immediately. And some people forget that there is additional settings when you set up your fingerprint and face recognition. So usually at the very beginning when you first set up your phone, you go and set up lock screen and always on display. You set up your lock screen type, you put in your face and fingerprints, but where you have all of those additional settings is right here.

underneath security and privacy. So inside of security and privacy, this is where you see Biometrics. And then this is where you have those additional settings for face recognition and fingerprints. So we're going to go in here. I'm going to type in my pin. Now once inside of here, this is where you can add in another fingerprint. You can even rename your fingerprint. This is where you have fingerprint unlock if you want it to be on or off. Here's where you have fingerprint always on. So that means even when the screen is off, you put your thumb where it reads and it'll unlock it. Now these are the two that I'm talking about here, which is show icon when screen is off. So if your screen is off and it's on the always on display, this is where it'll actually show that little fingerprint icon. Or you can have the option for tap to show. So if your screen is off and you tap the screen, it'll actually show you the fingerprint icon. Or you can actually just have it set up as never. So if you don't really need it.

to be there you know where it is because you can just do it because it's always on. Then you can just unlock your device and then there is that whole animation while unlocking. So what it looks like now is this when you go back inside of this screen it'll always show because the screen is on. But now when I unlock the device you can see immediately that it just goes into the phone and I'm not having a whole little animation thing happen other than my little wallpaper. And it's just a way to kind of get in quicker. If my wallpaper didn't move and I had a regular or different wallpaper set up, it would just be completely unlocked and nothing is moving or changing. So the animation is gone and that little icon depends if you have always on display or the whole tap to show. Then you'll either see it or you won't depending on the setup. And you can see there I know exactly where the fingerprint is. I'm able to get into it without even seeing where the icon is.

sitting topic number six. This is one that I do every single time within the first 5 minutes of owning a phone, and that is unlocking developer options so I can turn off all of the animation scales. Some people love all the animations. I just don't need it because it just kind of, you know, adds more processes to the phone where I'm just trying to move about the phone between application to application. But first off, how you unlock Developer Options is you want to go inside of about phone, and then inside of about phone, you want to tap on software information, and then you tap build a number seven times, and then you go back to page. So now that you have developer options unlocked, you can just really scroll down. It's almost like 3/4s of the way down. It's sitting right around here. This is where you see that window animation scale, transition animation scale, and animator duration scale all three of these were set up as 1X. Now the thing about that is that I don't really care.

about these animations so kind of watch this. When we put it at the time two, you can see that it really slows down. If I do the time 5, you can see what is technically happening. But at 1X, you can see how slow it is to go from screen to screen or window to window. So for me, I always put them at the 0.5. This way, I still want to have a little bit of Animation so it doesn't cause any issues. If you put your little animations to off and you run into any problems or issues, this is where you want to put it right back to 0.5. Because sometimes, especially on like a home screen or something, when you press and hold on an icon, they kind of move. There's an animation of something going on. And if there's a bug or a problem, this can't happen because you turned off all the animations. And so some of these things or whatever you might want to do is now not able to be done. So I would suggest the 0.5.

for all three of those topics, number seven is very quick, simple, and easy. And that is turning off that media page. All you would have to do is do a pinch to zoom, move over to the left-hand side. This is where you can turn it on or off. You can switch it between the Samsung news or Google discover. But once you turn this one off, then you can be right up over here. And now you just have your normal home screens of where your applications are. And you can also turn on Loop Pages through Good Lock. Topic number eight, which is also the last topic, is the Accidental touch protection. Now here's the thing. I can't remember if I turn this one on or if it comes on by default out of the box. But it's one of those things where the Accidental touch protection causes more problems than really what it tries to fix. It tries to fix it from, you know, having an accidental touch on the screen if it's in a bag or a pocket. But I never had problems with it in a bag or a pocket. It happens when

I'm just trying to use the phone, and the accidental touch screen pop-up when I don't want it to. So, this is where you want to go: inside of your settings, scroll down to display, and go to the very bottom because it'll actually show up right here called accidental touch protection. So, if you turn it on, it's supposed to protect your phone from the accidental touches when it's in a dark place such as a pocket or a bag. But like I said from before, when you're normally using the phone or if you're just holding on to the device, you might notice a screen popped up letting you know act accidental touch protection has been activated. And it's a little page on the screen you don't want it to be there. It actually causes more issues than what it really actually helps. So, because some of you may be annoyed if you turn this one on, simply just go through and turn it off if it's one of those things that was on by default, which I honestly can't remember. That is where you're able to

turn that off. So, hopefully you guys appreciated this video. Hopefully, it helped you out in any of those eight different areas. Annoying Features on Samsung Galaxy Devices

The quick access tab for Samsung Wallet can be pervasive, but it can be easily removed in the settings.

You can also remove the navigation gestures bar from all home screens by adjusting the settings.

Tackling these two features can help to declutter and customize your Samsung Galaxy device.

Customizing Your Samsung Device with Good Lock

Good Lock, a Samsung-made application available in some countries, allows for full customization of Samsung devices, including the navigation buttons and area at the bottom of the screen.

The NavStar module within Good Lock enables users to adjust the transparency and width of the gesture handle, providing more visibility and a customized look.

The Quickstar module, also within Good Lock, offers the ability to show or hide specific icons in the notification panel, such as the date, time, and AM/PM indicators, allowing for a cleaner and more personalized user experience.

You can easily remove unnecessary indicator icons from the top of your screen by tapping on them.

The same icons will also be removed from the extended screen when pulled down.

In addition, you have the option to customize the icons at the bottom of the screen by changing them to your preferred input method and disabling them in the settings.

If needed, you can always re-enable these icons through the device settings.

Managing Fingerprint Settings on Your Phone

You can easily manage your fingerprint settings by going to the "Biometrics" section under "Security and Privacy.

" From there, you can add or rename fingerprints, and choose whether to have the fingerprint icon show when the screen is off.

By adjusting these settings, you can eliminate the unlocking animation and customize when the fingerprint icon is displayed, allowing for a quicker and more personalized phone unlocking experience.

Unlocking Developer Options on Your Phone

To unlock Developer Options, go to Settings, select About Phone, tap on Software Information, and then tap Build Number seven times.

Once unlocked, you can adjust the animation scales to make the phone navigation faster.

5 can provide a smoother transition between screens while still keeping a bit of animation.

Be cautious when turning off all animations, as it may cause issues with certain functions on the phone.

Managing Accidental Touch Protection on Your Phone

Accidental touch protection can be found in the display settings and is meant to prevent unwanted touches in dark places.

However, it can cause more issues than it solves by popping up unnecessarily.

If you find it annoying, you can easily turn it off in the settings.
