for once, I'm going to start one of my videos with a non-inflammatory statement. Mark Roberts has done a great job as the game director on Path of Exile 1, and I enjoy the refreshing take he has on balance for the game. Why? Well, let's talk about it right now, talm Moana Exiles. Welcome to another Path of Exile 1 video. By the time you're seeing this, we're likely about a day away from Pue 3.25 Settlers of calgar, and it's awesome some launch. And the leadup to this league has been actually pretty typical. It's very comparable to past League launches and the like, even though there's a huge meta shakeup. There's your typical bad League starter, good League starter drama, lots of people Theory crafting, lots of people saying why not just run what has been proven to work, and the like. Even though the developers have definitely attempted to balance the game to an epic degree for this particular patch, everything is being thrown out. Many people believe

melee is going to be the way forward. Lots of other folks think Mana is going to be the new mechanic that is going to starve people and Breck many a league starter. We have some players starting with blood magic. Okay, that's pretty unprecedented. So there's a lot of wild things going on with the balance of the game, and I'm pretty appreciative of that. And I think before we actually dive in and see how all this is going to play out, I think it's worthwhile to reflect on that and thank Grinding Gear Games for taking a big risk here. Now I know I'm The Path of Exile 2 Channel generally, and PE1 is not necessarily my forte, even though I play a lot of it. But I'd like to take a minute and talk about why this is vital to be done with Path of Exile one. They have to do these big shakeups now, and they have to differentiate balance between the two games. Now you might be thinking, Try Path of Exile 2 isn't even out yet. What are

you talking about well they've done extensive testing on Path of Exile 2. They understand how the game plays, how it feels, and how it's going to be a very different game when compared to Path of Exile one. That much is evident. They need to make that distinction clear to the audience. They need to make sure those two games are rather far apart in balance, in scope, in feel, in unique item design, in skill design, in even boss design. All these different aspects of the games should feel very different because they're almost at this event horizon when they release Path of Exile 2. It's going to be an unprecedented era for grinding gear games. They're going to be running two games at once. It's something that a studio of their size very rarely can do and succeed in, and let alone that they're not just two games, right? They're two live service games. They're going to keep up updates for both of these titles. They need to make sure the distinction is clear between those two titles; otherwise, one game's audience might cannibalize the

others, and vice versa. They want to make sure that you are not burnt out playing PoE 1 and then you go to PoE 2, and it's more of the same, so you're just going to be burnt down on that. I think they want the experiences to feel unique, distinct, and that's why they're pushing Path of Exile 1 in a different design direction. And I got into a few arguments with my chat when I said, you know, I like overbuffing, I like very strong skills, don't nerf, just buff, bring the floor up. Lots of people say that's bad for the game. Well, I think Path of Exile 1 is going to be in that state where lots of stuff is overpowered and overbuffed, and smashing all sorts of content because at the end of the day, the fantasy of Path of Exile 1 is zooming to the nth degree, blasting through maps, blasting through the campaign itself, deleting bosses in less than two seconds. That's the fantasy of most hardcore Path of Exile players.

it's what many regular Path of Exile players fantasize about. They aspire to be on that level. I aspire to be on that level. I've never been on the level where I'm deleting endgame bosses in less than two seconds, but I have had a taste of blasting through Maps, once again not at the highest level, but at a decent level. I think that's the fantasy Path of Exile one is going to cater to, and it's really going to carve out that niche in the genre. It's unlike any other game in that regard. You can look at last deoch, D4, whatever, nothing is like Path of Exile one, and then we're going to have Path of Exile 2, and nothing is going to be like that game, and that is the perfect place for grinding your games to cement themselves right now with Settlers of Kar, Settlers of Kelgar, the balance changes. I mean, I'm really excited about them. Many other people are too. There's been lots of rigorous discussions and

lots of people posting theoretical builds on YouTube, and on Reddit, and on the Path of Exile forums, and that's awesome to see. You know, it's great that the starter meta doesn't appear to be as stagnant as it was before, even though many people say we should rely on what has succeeded in the past if we really want to succeed in the vital moments of the league. I say go all the way out, play all the new stuff. If it fails, it fails. As long as you have fun, that's a win. Okay, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going bleed lacerate. I'm probably going to play with some retaliation skills. I know a lot of other creators are doing the exact same thing. You know, Lighty is going perforate. I think lots of other creators are going to play with the bleed stuff. I know that Silver is going a bleed Chieftain. I think Dream Core is also going to go a slam build, which is awesome. Let's go. And there are plenty of other people who are

being experimental like captive Lance with Berserker slams and the like. It's going to be a fun league for that experimentation, and I really do think it's just pushing the envelope further in the direction of Path of Exile. One being that zoom zoom super powerful everything strong sort of game. Am I wrong? Am I right? Please let me know in the comments.
