Although some pastors live in luxury at the expense of their followers, is it fair to generalize like this to everyone? How can we distinguish between a true pastor and a false one according to Biblical teaching? [Music] I clearly remember that day when a family member sent me a video showing the luxurious lifestyle of a pastor financed by the faith and sacrifice of his followers. Shortly after I received his message, cousin, how can I be a pastor to live like them? His question left me stunned and deeply worried. I was filled with questions. How

could anyone see the pastor it as a path to wealth where was the essence of faith and selfless service. I couldn't help but respond to him trying to illuminate the true meaning of the pastor it. Frequently we see pastors involved in media controversies, which discredits the message of the gospel and generates distrust in those who seek spiritual truth. It is crucial to address these issues seriously since every time the pastor is tarnished, hearts are closed to the teachings of Christ. Now from a technical and doctrinal perspective, it is essential to analyze these cases to identify deviations from the biblical principles that should govern pastoral behavior. Jesus made it clear that a tree is known by its fruits. There are pastors who are true servants of God; however, there are also false shepherds who seek to get rich, avoid work, and have other selfish motivations. Some are even used as instruments of the devil. According to scripture, a true pastor must exhibit the following qualities. First, a true minister of God is called by the Lord because the church belongs to Christ, and he is the one who

assigns the Ministries. Although today, anyone can obtain the title of Pastor through studies in seminaries or Bible institutes. Academic training alone does not guarantee a genuine pastoral calling. These educational centers can provide valuable knowledge, but the authenticity of pastoral Ministry comes from the Divine calling and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Only those truly called by God can exercise the past it authentically and effectively, guiding the congregation according to the will of Christ. Let's read in Ephesians 4: 11 and 12, And he himself gave some Apostles, to others prophets, to others evangelists, to others pastors and teachers, to perfect the Saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ. These verses offer us insight into the provisions Christ made to equip the church with the specific leadership it needed. Paul mentions five offices or roles that certain members of the church exercised, properly equipped by Christ. These gifts given by Christ to his church are people qualified to play roles within the Christian Community in

addition to mentioning these roles Paul points out their purpose and goal which is to perfect the Saints for the work of the ministry. That is why the norm of the New Testament shows that pastors were chosen not by politics or power games but by the wisdom of the spirit that was given to the group while examining the spiritual and moral qualities of the candidate. Let's read Acts 20:28. Therefore, take heed to yourselves and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers to feed the Church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood. Pastors are essential to the Fulfillment of God's will for the church. The church that does not elect Godly and faithful pastors will no longer be governed according to the mind of the spirit. It will be a church that is exposed to the destructive forces of Satan and the world. The preaching of the word will be distorted and the standards of the Gospel will be lost. Believers and church families will not be cared for as God.

In a post-modern world, having academic degrees is valued more than the qualities that the Holy Spirit grants. I don't want it to be misunderstood. I believe that a Pastor should prepare academically, but that should not be the center of his ministry. Now, the list of Bishop's requirements includes first, be blameless. This word literally means nothing that can be used against. There should be nothing that others can use against you and to attack the church. The word is a metaphor taken from the case of an expert and skilled boxer who defends.

every part of his body in such a way that it is impossible for his antagonist to land a blow. This is a broad term for a man who lives an upright life, who can be seen as righteous. No one can stand up and accuse a man of grave sin. Second, husband of one wife. It literally means one woman for one type of man. This expression is interpreted as a general exclusion from the office of all those who are sexually immoral or polygamous, or as referring specifically to those who have remarried after divorce. It is unfortunate to see pastors who are divorced and remarry. What example can they set to the flock if they cannot maintain fidelity and stability in their marriage? This is a discredit for a pastor. He who is the husband of one wife dedicates himself completely to his wife and maintains her devotion, affection, and sexual purity in both thought and action. If he violated this sacred fidelity, he would cease to be blameless and could be the object of all kinds of accusations. Third, sober. The literal meaning of the

Greek word is without wine, but here it is used metaphorically to convey the quality of alert. Vigilant, careful, or clear-minded pastors must always be able to think clearly, be reasonable, or moderate fourth prudent. The Prudent Shepherd is one with sound judgment and good sense who knows how to distinguish well between good and evil, to follow that and avoid that. He is a moderate man of Sanity of discernment. Prudence is therefore a virtue of practical wisdom, which is always right in the way of acting and teaches how to succeed in life. Your lifestyle must be radically different from that of the world, serving as an example of holiness and avoiding

any behavior that could lead others to sin. Second, non-quarrelsome literally means not to be violent. Pastors or leaders within the Christian Community must completely refrain from using physical violence, verbal violence, restraint, arguments, etc. Instead of responding with aggression, they are expected to handle difficult situations with calmness and kindness. This reflects a call to maintain peace and resolve conflicts in a peaceful and respectful manner, thus demonstrating the character of Christ in all his actions and decisions. Third, not greedy for dishonest gains. A pastor should not have a materialistic attitude toward money or possessions. Part of these characteristics are a warning to those who lead in the church and deal with the proper management of God's finances. One of the most effective ways to evaluate a pastor is to observe his relationship with money, as this can reveal a lot about his true intentions and character. False shepherds often show an excessive love of money and material comfort, using their position for personal gain. This behavior manifests itself in the demand for exorbitant salaries and in

the constant search for luxuries and comforts. On the contrary, a true Pastor is distinguished by his humility and dedication to the service of his congregation, prioritizing the spiritual and material well-being of his followers above his own financial interests. Fourth, gentle means peaceful or one who refrains from fighting. He is a person who does not promote disunity but rather harmony. There are pastors who abuse their congregation, subjecting them to blackmail or threats. This behavior does not correspond to a true servant of God. A true Pastor must lead with love, integrity, and dedication, always seeking the spiritual and emotional well-being of his community and not take advantage of it to obtain power or personal benefits. Fifth, not greedy. Elders should be motivated by love for God and their community, not money. A leader who exercises ministry for monetary gain reveals a heart focused on worldly things and not those of God. Greed is a characteristic of false teachers but it was never a problem in Paul's ministry. We are going to include a new

requirement for pastors as mentioned in Titus 1:7. Because it is necessary that the bishop be blameless, as God's administrator. Not arrogant, not angry, not given to wine, not quarrelsome, not greedy for dishonest gain. Sixth, not arrogant. If a man is stubborn, obstinately clinging to his opinions without leaving the possibility for those who differ from him to be right, if he is inflexible and impatient in the face of contradictions, then he is not suitable to be a spiritual guide. A pastor is a moderator, not a dogmatic autocrat. Dear listener, if you are in a congregation where your pastor lives an opulent life and his sermons always revolve around financial covenants, constantly emphasizing tithes and offerings, this may be an indication of a greedy heart. Let's continue reading Verses 4 and 5 of Chapter 3 of 1 Timothy. Let him govern his house well, let him keep his children in subjection with all honesty. For he who does not know how to govern

his own house. How will he take care of the Church of [Music] God? The Holy Spirit considers the believer's leadership in home, marriage, and family relationships to be of utmost importance. The bishop must be an example for the family of God, especially in his fidelity to his wife and children. After all, if he has failed in this regard, how will he care for God's church? If a man cannot accomplish a lesser task, he will be unable to succeed in the greater task of overseeing the many families that make up a congregation or group of churches. The minister's children must demonstrate through their obedient and respectful behavior that they honor their father. The sons of Eli, the high priest, represent a tragic example of misunderstood paternal love and his failure to govern his family. Now, the key point to being a bishop is to have a conduct marked by pious wisdom, correct decisions, and personal holiness. Candidates must be evaluated by their spiritual career, remaining firm in Jesus Christ and in principles of justice, being a model of fidelity, truthfulness, honesty, and purity.

according to the Holy Spirit, Christian leaders must be examples for believers, excelling in piety, faithfulness, and purity, as well as showing loyalty and love for Christ in the gospel. Pastors who embody the faith are fundamental to Christian leadership, and to dismiss this principle is to ignore the clear teaching of scripture. Let us read 1 Timothy 4:12, where we are told, No one should despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith, and purity. Now, the question would be, what measures should be taken if a pastor does not meet these requirements or is involved in serious sins? People in the church who are guilty of grave sins or moral transgressions have disqualified themselves from holding the office of pastor and any senior leadership position in the local church. Although they may generously receive forgiveness by God's grace, they have lost the ability to serve as models of perseverance in faith, love, purity, and sound doctrine. According to the scriptures, those who aspire to the bishopric must be

above reproach. Since Old Testament times, God has made it clear that he expects the leaders of his people to maintain high standards of moral and spiritual living. Otherwise, others will take his place. Furthermore, it establishes the principle that a bishop who sets aside his fidelity to God and his word, and to his wife and family, must be removed from the office of bishop. It cannot, after that, be considered blameless. Regarding the one among God's people who commits adultery, the word of God declares that the reproach of him will never be blotted out. Let's read Proverbs 6: 32 and 33: But he who commits adultery lacks understanding; he corrupts the soul of him who does such. Wounds and shame he will find, and his disgrace will never be erased. This does not imply that God or the church does not forgive. In fact, if there is genuine repentance and godly sorrow for that sin, God forgives any sin, even those listed in 1 Timothy 3: 1 through 1.

Paul's address to the elders of Ephesus is an exemplary passage of biblical principles regarding the role of the bishop within the visible church. His function is similar to that of the

prophets of the Old Testament. The main responsibilities of the pastor are: first, the encouragement of Faith. One of the main duties of Bishops is to feed the sheep by teaching them the word of God. They must always keep in mind that the entrusted flock is none other than the people that God has purchased for himself with the Precious Blood of his son. Today's Bishops must likewise declare to their churches all the will of God. They must preach the word, correct, rebuke, and exhort. Let's read 2 Timothy 4 verse two: that you preach the word, that you urge in season and out of season, rebuke, reprimand, exhort with all patience and [Music] Doctrine. The pastor must refuse to be someone who tries to please people by telling them only what they want to hear. Second, the protection of faith. Let's read Acts 20: 29 and 30: for I know that after my departure ravenous wolves will enter among you, not sparing the flock, and from yourselves men will

arise who speak perverse things to draw away the disciples after them. The true Shepherd must diligently protect the sheep from [Music] enemies. Paul warns that Satan will raise up false teachers and infiltrate imposters with unbiblical doctrines and worldly Concepts, which will destroy the faith of God's people. These ravenous wolves are strong, voracious, and dangerous, turning people away from the teachings of Christ towards a distorted gospel. Paul urges church leaders to protect the church and oppose those who distort the New Testament Faith. Pastors and administrators must remember their responsibility to Jesus for the spiritual life of their congregation. If you do not watch over the flock and do not fulfill God's plan, you will be responsible for the spiritual loss of those you did not protect. It is crucial that leaders exercise discipline in theological, doctrinal, and moral matters. They must protect the purity of Doctrine and adhere to the inherency of scripture in all structures of the church. Dear listener, a church that does

not defend the truth, and does not discipline those who undermine the authority of the word of God will soon cease to exist as a church faithful to the standards of the New Testament. Finally, I urge you to consider what the epistle to the Hebrews 13:17 says: obey your pastors and submit to them, because they watch over your souls as those who must give an account, so that they do it with joy and not complaining, because this is not beneficial to you. Just as there are specific standards and responsibilities for pastors, there is also an important calling for all believers to obey their spiritual leaders. Pastors who follow the will of God guide the people towards the fear and knowledge of God, watching over their souls, teaching them, and protecting them spiritually. This obedience is not blind but based on listening to and following leaders when their teachings are aligned with the Bible. Spiritual leaders placed by God care for and build up the Christian Community. When your instructions align with the word of God, your Authority is validated.

The exhortation to obey spiritual leaders not only strengthens the spiritual structure and health of the church, but also reflects a Biblical understanding of the authority and pastoral care that God has established for the benefit of his people.
