I uploaded a video last time, and it was very popular. It's about a new brake that I have never experienced before. It's the brake that will eventually go into autonomous cars. What is it? Brake by wire. Now, the hydraulic line is gone, and when an electric signal is sent, the electric motor applies the brake. Do you remember that? When I explained the brake by wire in the video, someone commented, Oh, Ms. Misaeng, Audi has already applied it. They said, Audi has already applied what you are explaining now. There were comments like that. So, I thought it's a good topic. Whether the brake applied by Audi or the one I mentioned for Tesla or autonomous cars is different, I should explain that. This is a good topic, so I brought it today. Therefore, the brake that goes into other cars is... Brake by wire.

In today's video, we will look at how future brakes that will be used in autonomous vehicles, entering the realm of the wire system and Tesla, differ from the brakes that will lead us into the future of the automotive industry. Please enjoy watching. When you watch this compared to many traditional cars and autonomous vehicles that I have shown you before, you will see comments like that in the lead comments. It takes a few minutes. Why does it show this? It doesn't show that. But even though I showed it, there are comments without watching until the end of the video. First of all, it was mentioned that mechanically connected safety measures are removed. When it comes to brake-by-wire, even if you step on the brake, there is no mechanical connection. Just like when you turn the steering wheel, there is no mechanical connection. I mentioned that there is no connection, even if you step on the brake, there is no connection now.

I mentioned that there is no connection, it's just done with electrical wires, so when electricity flows, that's how it works. Do you remember the explanation for that? Do you remember this? When the electrical signal comes in, the motor operates here, serving what you see here, like the warm gear. Now, it starts rotating, and as it turns, you push the lever hard and grip the brake tightly, remembering this method, right? This is the brake-by-wire. It means the brake is controlled by a wire. What is a wire? It's not a wire that you pull like this, it's a wire that holds the brake by a wire, not a wire that you pull like this. So, do you remember the brake-by-wire? Now, what's different between this and Audi? You have to compare them, right? Oh, let's look at Audi now. I'll explain it in detail. It's not just Audi's, actually, nowadays, it's almost all German cars and European cars, not just European.

Cars, oh, American cars, even Japanese cars, almost everything is included in this. And they explain about brake by wire, what is included. Even Hyundai cars have this. Now, here, the brake is pressed by the customer. Oh, not the customer, who is it? The passenger presses it. Not the passenger, I mean, in Korean, I press it now. The driver presses it. When you press it, pressure is generated. Since the caliper is firmly attached, pressure will be generated. However, to make people think that there is a connection, they create a simulator here. People step on it like this. How much did they step on it? How much did the sensor and pressure move? Then, oh, the human being stepped on it. Please give push feedback as much as it feels like they stepped on it a lot. And

Here, the motor pushes continuously. It pushes in the opposite direction, like this. There is oil here. There is oil in here. Who pushes the oil? The motor pushes like this. This was made by Mobis in the past. So, because of this, now, I did this back then. This is what we call a sponge. Here, like this, when a person steps on it, a simulator inside here. Can you see the motor below? It makes you feel the pressure of how much it's pressed. In reality, it wasn't pressed that much. So, when you guys play games, in game simulators, like driving simulators, it's not just a simple spring, it's made tight with hydraulics. Like this, depending on how much a person steps on it, Ah, I should give this much. And mechanically, no, electrically, it's pressed hard. Like the old springs.

It's not just stepping on it, but the more you step, the more the force of resistance increases. This way, the resilience rises as you step on it. If you keep pushing with the same force, it's not fun. You should make it harder as you step on it, like having a spring attached. That's why we created a simulator like this. Now, in the pedal simulator, when you step on it, the simulator shows how much it moved, then how much pressure is applied. The computer receives this information, and this computer brake control unit sends it to where it needs to go, for regenerative braking. Regenerative braking is sent to the motor to rotate in the opposite direction, or it applies resistance for charging. This is a perfect brake-by-wire system. This is related to autonomous driving and Tesla.

This is the brake-by-wire system that Audi has implemented, and now Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW are also doing this in their car companies. When the simulator gives a signal, the motors generate reverse power, performing regenerative braking while applying the brakes. Okay, I understand up to this point. This is the ultimate brake-by-wire. Just looking at this, it's like seeing only a part of the trees in the forest. Since it's only 0.6g from the Ioniq, we need to produce more of this. How are we going to do that? The calipers go in, the brake calipers, right? Ultimately, they need to catch up. That's where the difference lies.

An issue occurs. Until here, the brake-by-wire is correct. However, from here, a difference arises. What wasn't handled by regen here, what wasn't handled by regen braking, what do we do about that? Here, a device that generates pressure was also installed. So, Mobis showed the pump earlier, but a separate pump for pumping is installed. Therefore, when this pump receives an electrical signal and pumps, what happens? Hydraulic lines go in, the oil, I mean, the oil goes to each caliper and helps to grip. So, when we looked at the diagram earlier, we saw only half of it. When we look at it like this, with only brake-by-wire here, there are no hydraulic lines, only pure electrical lines. So, with brake-by-wire here, even though there is brake-by-wire, let's briefly look at the big picture again. Well, since we saw it briefly anyway.

Just by looking at this, when the regeneration braking doesn't work, when the regeneration braking doesn't work, if you look closely, oh, they made a pedal as a simulator. After making this, doing some unnecessary things, they made a pump here. If you step on it, pressure should just build up. Most of the cars you ride now, when you step on it, pressure builds up. If I press it here, it goes in like this. Why bother cutting that in the middle and stepping on it with your foot? You can just go straight to the caliper and adjust it. But why cut it here and now you're using a simulator expensively, what are you making here with a pump attached, saying you'll put this in with an electric pump? What is this? It's just a waste. Such a waste. What a waste. Car researchers do a lot of these unnecessary things, spending money unnecessarily. If you go as far as drum brakes...

You can say that it's nonsense to save money, but if this doesn't happen, we have to go into a bankruptcy freeze anyway, so we have to use a bankruptcy freeze, and then money goes in again, so it has to go like this. But why on earth do we cut it off here and make a pump like this? It's because it's a transitional period. It's transitional and cool, but why do we do this transitional period? This transitional period is about getting rid of what we put in with a pump here, eliminating it hydraulically. In the old days, there was a cable for parking brakes. Hey, this was just pressed with a button motor, there was a cable. It's the same now, we used to put in a hydraulic line now with a pump, saying we'll put this in with a pump like this as a nonsense, but let's get rid of this, let's get rid of this, get rid of this, using oil.

I hate it. Now, the engine oil needs to be changed, and the brake oil needs to be changed too. All of this is unnecessary. Get rid of all of that, get rid of everything, get rid of the pump, truly brake by wire. So, what is the ultimate difference between Audi and Tesla now? Audi will eventually follow. What is the difference? Get rid of the pump here, get rid of everything. Then, how do you make it? This is how it's made now. When a human steps on the pedal, then a simulator needs to be included here to give that feeling, so it doesn't feel too artificial. A simulator needs to be included, right? So, cut it here, then what do you do? The brake caliper won't disappear here because it needs to control the brakes. But everything coming from here will disappear. This is why the ultimate cost-saving is heading in this direction. Now you roughly understand why. Instead, it needs to control the brakes.

Adding a little bit of what you're saying here, will it make the cost cheaper or more expensive? Right now, it's getting more expensive because everything is going to be gone. Maintenance people won't have to change oil or things like that. When oil leaks and gets hot, causing vapor lock, all of that will be gone. Researchers are working on eliminating these things, saving money and advancing technology. However, the question of whether it is safe or not, that's our responsibility now. How to make it safer and how to handle it safely, that's where simulators come in. Even if communication lines are cut, hacking occurs, or an EMP bomb goes off, the goal is to ensure that the car can still stop. So, that's the explanation I gave last time about brake by wire.

The system is talking about this. Ms. Audi, Audi is already included. You seem to have made the video without knowing anything. What is happening is a complex system. It is transitioning from traditional gasoline cars to electric cars, passing through hybrids in the middle. So, nowadays, in videos where people suddenly claim things like sudden acceleration, or say this is strange, the Ionic system in those videos, Ionic brakes, etc., are included in this. Because of this, there is a high chance of errors occurring in the middle. That's why sudden acceleration is not at all. I don't know about sudden acceleration, but the car doesn't stop. Even if you step on the brakes, it keeps going. There was a case in the past where Mobis' brakes had a recall issue. On a hill, the brakes didn't work properly due to a glitch in this complex system. That's where the problem arises, causing malfunctions.

Can I ask what are the advantages of this system? They keep talking about the disadvantages of this system, but aren't there any advantages? There are advantages. What could they be? When this issue arises, it seems like it could be something related to the future. However, the problem is that if the brake fails, there is no entity to stop it. If this issue doesn't receive a signal, then it's over. However, the advantage of this is shown in gray here. When an emergency situation occurs, if you press this through Push Thru, it will create a circuit that can directly go through this way. It's not a circuit but a route. It means that they have pierced the oil pipe. So, even if something goes wrong, if you step on it, it should stop. Therefore, although this system is a hybrid system, it can still stop.

Is it okay up to here, has the explanation been clear? Do you understand? So, in the end, Tesla and the autonomous driving camp plan to create by eliminating the coupling line and mechanical backup. Okay, do you understand? Are you scared? Now do you understand? I feel like I explained it well, didn't I? If the explanation was a bit difficult, please understand, and I tried to explain it as simply as possible. Anyway, what Mobis is making is also called this. This is what I'm talking about. The controllers mentioned earlier all refer to this. Inside here, there are pumps, simulators, and things like that. Okay, but as you can see here, what do you see here? There are complex black lines like this. They are all Euro lines. There are still reservoir tanks here, the ones that hold the oil, they are not disappearing, it's a hybrid.

It's the brake system. So, Audi Tron, other companies say they have our brake by wire, but you should actually watch it closely. In reality, as far as I know, there is no company that has it yet. They say brake by wire is also used in airplanes, but airplanes are really different. When I step on it, the signal has to go there, but actually, the brake that stops the airplane's wheels has a real motor and hydraulic. I think it needs to be examined in detail. I have never seen airplane brakes, but from what I saw on the testing site, even though the signal may come electrically, the operation seems to be hydraulic for airplanes. I need to look into it more closely. Even then, it's not completely eliminating brake by wire in a strict sense. Okay, airplanes too.

There is ABS brakes. It came out of ABS brakes, SJ. Just like airplanes have wheels on both sides, when the landing gear goes down, it spreads out.
