Did you not hear my lights or sir? Or... I didn't actually... I was on the phone. Okay. You're not...

supposed to be on the phone while you're driving? Either yes, I am, with hands... absolutely. Why?

in New York State. Exceeding the speed limit by 20 miles per hour results in a $90 fine.

A speeding ticket could have been the end of it, but Sandra

didn't stop and eventually drove home. While driving, she

called the police chief repeatedly, requesting intervention. At that time, the police chief

told the officer on duty to call a supervisor to the scene

and handle it according to procedure, then hung up.

It was revealed that the call ended this way. If a suspect ignores a police officer's lawful order and flees to their home or

hides, the police can exercise the right to emergency pursuit

and enter private property without a warrant.

I don't know why you're acting like this towards me because... Can you please go to the back of the vehicle?

I'm not going to... I'm home. I was going... I was okay. 50. I don't care if you got home.

You were supposed to stop at Philips Road when I pulled you over when my lights were initiated. I didn't know you were

stopping me. There were lots of other cars on the road. I was right behind you. Yeah, there were other people on the road

too. I was directly behind you. Can you please step over here? I'm not going to... What is the

reason you're so against what I'm doing? I'm doing my job, you say? You're a DA? I am the DA. Okay.

Let me get you my badge. I am the DA. I just don't understand the hostility towards me doing my

Sandra shows the officer her District Attorney badge instead of her ID. According to New York State Penal Law §95,

when a public officer uses their position for

personal gain, it's considered official misconduct and can result in up to one year

Sandra could be arrested for resisting a lawful stop and fleeing. However, as the sergeant said, the officer should wait for his superior.

[Music] It starts. Oh, I day 5. 35 over speed. You know what that's

fine. You know what I've been dealing with all day? Three murders in the city, and do you think I...

Really care. If I was going 20 miles over the speed limit, I'm just doing my job. If

you sped, if you pulled over when you saw my lights, which obviously you did, I thought you were

going somewhere else because I thought no one would... SUV... do... have... showed you my driver's... you show me... you show

…Sandra uploaded an apology video, then texted the officer, 'If you're willing, I'd like to meet and apologize in person.'

The officer did not respond. The next day, Sandra texted again, 'I completely understand if you don't want to meet personally,

but I'd like to meet and sincerely apologize for my actions.'

The officer did not respond. The Merlo County Ethics Committee reviewed the bodycam footage and stated that Sandra's behavior was disrespectful,

insulting, an attempt to leverage privilege, and constituted obstruction of justice.

However, since Sandra acknowledged her mistake and her reputation has already suffered greatly, they stated they would not pursue additional charges or make an example of her by sacrificing her prosecutorial career.
